Coding: the new literacy of the 21st Century

Coding is not a key-in-hand activity. It helps to improve the computational thinking, a transversal skill that allows us to conceive and express rigorous procedures that lead to the solution of a problem or the realization of an idea. It can be applied to any discipline even without specific tools, but requires reflection and awareness. In today’s complex and digital world, coding is a fundamental skill, but it is rarely taught in schools. In this project we aim at developing coding and computational thinking across the curriculum. We will apply new teaching approaches (flipped classroom, gamification, PBL, CLIL) and activities like code games, use of robots and story building, to use coding creatively and in an enjoyable way in all subjects.
