Christmas Connections – A Holiday Exchange Across Borders

The eTwinning project Christmas Connections brings together primary school students from different countries, allowing them to make new friends and learn about each other’s holiday traditions. The project is divided into three phases: Christmas Card Exchange – In the first phase, students will create and send traditional Christmas cards to their international partners. Each card will include holiday greetings in both their native language and English, as well as cultural elements unique to their country. Email Exchange – In the second phase, students (aged 12-15) will start corresponding via email, sharing information about themselves, their interests, holiday traditions, and everyday life in their countries. Online or In-Person Meeting – The final phase of the project will include a video conference where students will have the opportunity to talk in real time, present their countries, and share their experiences from the project. If possible, schools may also consider organizing an in-person meeting. The project aims to develop students’ language skills, foster openness to different cultures, and promote values such as friendship, respect, and international cooperation.
