Beyond Words : Unlock Doors of English with Idioms

This eTwinning project will start in September and is open only to English language teachers working with high school students aged 14–18.The main goal is to teach idioms in a creative, interactive, and collaborative way while promoting intercultural awareness and digital literacy. Idioms are often difficult for students to understand, yet they offer a rich opportunity to explore language and culture together. Students will participate in activities such as creating a shared “Idiom Wall,” illustrating idioms, making videos, writing short stories, recording podcasts, preparing cultural presentations, and even composing an idiom-based song. All activities will be carried out in English and integrated with Web 2.0 tools like Canva, Padlet, and Kahoot. Through this project, students will enhance their comprehension of idioms, develop oral and written communication skills, use digital tools creatively, and work collaboratively with peers from partner schools. They will also gain insight into idioms from other cultures, which will strengthen both their language abilities and intercultural understanding.
