Being Well and Aware

The project focuses on the growing issue of health problems in the EU, particularly the impact on life expectancy and the disparities related to education levels. The latest "OECD Health Statistics 2023" report highlighted a significant slowdown in life expectancy in several EU countries. Individuals with lower levels of education face a life expectancy that is six years shorter than those with higher education due to their lack of awareness about factors such as stress, unhealthy habits, and environmental issues leading to diseases like diabetes, cancer, and high blood pressure. The prevalence of serious diseases attributed to unhealthy habits is on the rise, partly due to environmental factors, lack of physical activity, poor nutrition, and a lack of awareness among young students. The primary focus is on teenagers aged 14 to 16, who will be actively engaged in all stages of the Erasmus and eTwinning projects at class, school, individual, incountry, and mixed group levels. Within the school environment, teachers and parents of secondary students are pivotal in serving as role models and mentors for the target group. Involvement will include the creation of educational materials and the development of didactic resources at home. Other school staff and students of varying ages will also be engaged through campaigns, contests, and promotional activities.
