Active Ƶ & Active Teach for Democracy

Active learning techniques are the techniques that enable the individual to present his/her own view on a subject, to get the opinion of others, and finally to reconsider his own view. With this aspect, active learning techniques are a student-centered method and are effective in providing students with democratic skills. There are over 35 active learning techniques, the most well-known active learning techniques being station, snowball, ball bearing, cornering, marketplace, paper bag. This project aims to use active learning techniques in teaching. The project has two legs. In the first step, the skills of pre-service teachers in applying active learning techniques in their own branches will be developed. In the second leg of the project, pre-service teachers will apply active learning techniques in the schools where they do internships. Thus, students in schools will be provided with fun student-centered teaching activities and their democratic skills will be developed.
