DROP’IN: using non-formal education to prevent early school leaving

Educational exclusion can have long-term social and economic outcomes. Therefore, the sought to foster re-engagement among disadvantaged youth through innovative educational approaches and supportive measures.

The project developed alternative, engaging learning opportunities based on non-formal learning techniques that can better meet the needs of young people at risk of exclusion. It also supported the personal and social development of students to facilitate their reintegration into formal education or training systems.

Most of the are available in English, Italian, Bulgarian, Latvian and French, and include:

DROP’Insight: research-based overview of ESL, related policies and innovative strategies;
EDUC’Action: a catalogue of over 30 non-formal education techniques divided into five sections;
DROP’Involve: teacher training programme on non-formal teaching techniques;
DROP’IN Action: an online portfolio of the techniques and experiences used within the project;
DROP’InSpiration Policy recommendations.

The project benefitted teachers in each partner country and their students, over 3000 in total.
