Building confidence through practice

Many pupils and teachers hesitate to participate in Erasmus+ programmes due to language barriers. The fear of making mistakes or not being able to express themselves can be discouraging. OLS helps break down these barriers by providing a structured yet flexible environment where learners can practice at their own pace.

OLS offers resources for beginners (A1–A2) in 29 languages and for advanced learners (B1–B2) in English, French, Spanish, German and Italian.  The resources include

• interactive exercises and videos (that simulate real-life communication situations)
• self-paced modules (focused on key language functions, grammar, vocabulary and sociocultural elements)
• access to forums and communities to exchange with peers and native-speaking community managers
• blended learning lesson plans (to support classroom instruction)

OLS provides tailored content that aligns with specific needs, whether for young pupils, vocational learners, volunteers or staff members. Each course can be personalised through a functionality called Boost, offering personalised learning activities.

For example, a VET learner might focus on professional communication in the workplace, while a higher education student could receive language training relevant to writing his thesis. This ensures that every participant receives targeted support to enhance their mobility experience.

A stepping stone to real-world opportunities

Equipping pupils and teachers with practical language skills, OLS makes it easier to go from online learning to real-world interaction.
