The Italian Institute “San Biagio” is composed of two Primary Schools and a Middle school.
Students are from 7 to 14 years of age and they study English, French and Spanish.
Our three schools are situated near the centre of our town, Ravenna.
The Institute is attended by around 1500 students from 6 to 14 years of age.
There are more than 150 teachers working in the three schools.
The classes are grouped, according to age.
All classes are mixed ability with Special Needs children and foreign children (10,5%).
Our town, Ravenna has an important tradition connected to its hospitality: Dante Alighieri, the poet, was our special guest till the last days of his life.
Our school, connected with Ravenna history, is willing to spread “inclusion’s best practices” among our students, till they are young.
In our school the “diversity” is a “wealth”.
What we do in order to help foreign children is also a chance for other kinds of diversity among our pupils in our classes.
“Feeling good” at school is an important mission for us as we strongly believe that a good teacher must be a good educator.
As educators at school we promote and foster the connection of different cultures in order to disseminate a mentality and a habit on intercultural dialogue where the differences are resources.
Our school is also well digitally equipped. In all classes there are digital boards. Teachers and students have their Google Workspace accounts in order to work also online.
