The aims of ARTTRAIN is to promote the use of the performing arts (music, dance and theatre) in connection with youth-work / community education / social work. This will be done through:
A) pilot projects in this field
B) research
C) information activity
D) impact on decision makers

Arttrain was constituted in 1999 and did in year 2000 take the initiative to the European network "Drums for Peace", which is using the participative arts for the empowerment of young people, and in 2014 Arttrain established the international school-cooperation "Exchanges for All", which is trying to make art-based youth-exchanges an integrated part of school-education.
Bo Otterstrøm aka Mr. Bo is the president of the organisation, which today mainly is working in 3 areas, which all are using “art as a tool”:
* The mentioned school-network "Exchanges for All", which is implementing free of costs, art-based non-formal-learning youth-exchanges for 8th graders in May and in September and by now is involving 20 schools in 8 countries around The Baltic Sea, who are all traveling green by bus & ferry.
* More European wide youth-exchanges, which in the context of Drums for Peace network is implementing exchanges and trainings involving also e.g. Mediteranean countries and organized by members of Arttrain’s team of young adults.
* Professional development training for young, adult artists, who have grown up with Drums for Peace projects.
