EVANGELIA LOUTRIANAKI

Valia Loutrianaki was born in 1975 in Athens. She is a teacher of classics and greek language, holder of DEA (University Paris IV, Sorbonne) and a Phd candidate in the research field "Rhetoric as a method and as a teaching subject." Her innovative program “Teisias” for the cultivation of oral speech, creative thinking and leadership skills was implemented (in 2010-2011), with permission of the Hellenic Ministry of Education, in 8 schools and a sample of 160 students. This innovative program combines classical rhetoric, techniques for generating ideas, principles of effective communication, drama, rhetorical games, and generally the concept of learning communities. Since 2021 it is officialy implemented in many schools' Skills Labs.
She is Global Schools Program Advocate, powered by UN-SDSN.
Since 2001 she is a teacher in Arsakeia-Tositseia Schools. She designs and facilitates annual experiential programs, such as the rhetorical and leadership clubs, imagination workshops, etc. She is also responsible for the student leadership summer camp. She is part of her school’s Erasmus+ team and coordinator of UNESCO’s ASP-NET team.
Since 2015 teaches in the two-year MA program “Rhetoric: theory and practice”-University of Athens.
She has facilitated trainings for Terre des Hommes (2020). She was responsible for ActionAid's Hellas European Programs "Climate of Change Debates", involving 13 countries (2020-21) and "YOULead", involving five countries (2023), as well as for the organization of Students' Rhetoric Symposium-Teachers4Europe (2022).
She is an accredited trainer of Gordon Training International-TET.
She is an official TEDed Club Leader and Speakers' Team Mentor of TEDxKids@Ilissos.
She is founder and president (since 2009) of the non-profit and scientific Hellenic Association for the Promotion of Rhetoric in Education. She has organized voluntarily more than 2.500 hours of teachers’ training relating to communication, rhetoric, creativity, leadership, team building etc. Since 2012 she coordinates the annual Rhetorical Club of Educators. She co-organizes summer camps for teenagers and university students.
She co-coordinates the “Sympraxis school network for democratic education”-EUDEC-Greece since 2017/
In 2024 she was selected as Global Schools Advocate, UN SDSN.
She has presented more than 250 speeches and workshops.
She founded and coordinates the pedagogical team "Seirios".
She has participated in lexicography teams (prof. G.
