1) Cooperative Ƶing
Jeden z workshopov môjho dublinského pobytu sa týkal aktivít kooperatívneho učenia. Jedna z nich, ktorú som začala používať pomerne často, sa volá Vnútorný kruh Vonkajší kruh. Používam ju s mladšími žiakmi, tretím a štvrtým ročníkom, na precvičovanie ich zručností v trénovaní otázok a odpovedí. Táto aktivita je fantastický spôsob, ako aktívne oživiť hodinu mladších žiakov.
EN: One of the workshops of my Dublin methological stay was related to Cooperative learning activities. There is one which I started to use quite often called Inner Circle Outer Circle. I use it with younger students, Grade 3 and 4, to work their Q&A skills. This activity is a fantastic way to get younger students engaged.
How Inner Circle Outer Circle Works
1 - Split your students into two equal groups.
2 - Form 2 circles, an inner one and an outer one. Each student in the inner circle has a partner in the outer circle.
3 -Give each pair a question or topic to discuss. This could be related to a lesson you've been working on, a book you're reading, or even a current event.
4 - Rotate: After a set amount of time (e.g., 2-3 minutes), have the outer circle rotate one or two positions to the right, so each student gets a new partner.
5 - Continue the Q&A process with new partners and you can continue even with new questions or topics.
2) Clock Date Activity
Túto aktivitu som zažila na vlastnej koži na kurze, keď sa učitelia mali medzi sebou zoznámiť. Ja si ju odvtedy obmieňam, podľa toho, akú tému preberáme a čo potrebujem so žiakmi trénovať, aby sa im zlepšili komunikačné zručnosti. Uvádzam príklad precvičovania Modálnych slovies.
Výhoda aktivity je, že zaujímavým spôsobom sa tvoria dvojice. Menia sa a nekomunikujú spolu len najlepší kamaráti.
Žiakom sa aktivita páčila, teraz ju už poznajú, na začiatku bol moment prekvapenia. Som rada, keď do vyučovania môžem zakomponovať takéto momenty.
EN: I experienced this activity firsthand during my methodological course when teachers were supposed to get to know each other. Since then, I've been modifying it depending on the topic we're working on with my pupils and what I need them to practise and to improve their communication skills. Here's an example of the presentation practicing Modal verbs with 8th and 9th Graders.
The advantage of this activity is that it creates pairs in an interesting way. They change partners and don't just communicate with their best friends.
The students liked the activity, they know it now, but at the beginning, there was a moment of surprise. I'm glad when I can incorporate such moments into teaching.
3) Sit down and Stand up Activity
Táto aktivita umožňuje rozhýbať žiakov a iným spôsobom skontrolovať správne odpovede. Využila som ju niekoľkokrát so štvrtákmi.
EN: This activity allows students to move around and check the correct answers in a different way. I have used it several times with fourth Graders.
