Input paper: A whole-school approach to learning for environmental sustainability

This expert briefing paper was drafted in support of the first meeting of the EU’s Working Group Schools in the context of education for environmental sustainability. It brings together government representatives and education stakeholders from the EU, and partner countries, to support closer collaboration on education for a green transition.

This paper additionally promotes exchange and mutual learning that can encourage education for a more sustainable Europe. Primarily, it aims to address the question: "What has been learnt from the adoption of whole-school approaches to sustainability?" by summarising the latest research and leading experiences with the objective of informing policy development and related activities. It also gives a focus on a selected number of the subthemes identified in the survey which are of interest to Working Group members.
