The de La Tour Schulen Seiersberg is a small (around 75 students in upper secondary), evangelical private school just outside of Austria's second largest city, Graz. Our school is based on the Dalton-Plan, or open learning phases based on assignments, with which we use to promote and nurture students' autonomy as learners, their self-management skills as well as their communication and collaboration skills. The Dalton-Plan not only shapes the teaching and learning methods used at our school, but it also shapes how students and teachers interact with each other. In addition, languages play a key role at our school. English and Spanish are two of the main subjects that the students in upper secondary learn, and students are encouraged to engage in the target language as much as possible with our teachers from Spain, England, the United States, Canada and Ireland.
