GIS for Gist of Europe - KA220

„GIS for Gist of Europe” eTwinning project is a branch of the Erasmus + project „GIS for Gist of Europe” 2022-1-RO01-KA220-SCH-000085964 and aims to integrate Geographic Information System (GIS) into the curriculum of schools across Europe. This project will involve a collaborative effort between schools from different countries, with the goal of helping students develop an understanding of GIS technology and its potential applications in various fields. The project will include several activities, such as virtual meetings and online collaborations between students and teachers from different countries. The participants will be encouraged to share their experiences and ideas, as well as to work together to develop educational materials and resources that can be used to teach GIS in the classroom. The „GIS for Gist of Europe” project will also involve training sessions for teachers, aimed at helping them develop the skills and knowledge needed to effectively teach GIS in the classroom. These training sessions will be held both online and in-person (through the Erasmus+ project's mobilities), and will include topics such as GIS software, data management, and data visualization with the purpose of fighting climate change. This eTwinning project is an innovative initiative that seeks to promote the use of GIS technology in education, especially environmental studies, while also fostering collaboration and cultural exchange between schools across Europe. By empowering students with the skills and knowledge needed to work with GIS, the project will help to prepare the next generation of professionals to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
