We wish to connect with schools across Europe to explore the theme of cultural identity through art, music, poetry, stories, dance and drama. We aim to include the use of new and exciting digital technologies and teaching approaches to allow the children to be in charge of their own learning and project. The project aims to cover the following areas: - identity, imagination, culture, dreams - acceptance, discrimination, beliefs, language. - UN Rights of the Child, active citizenship, cultural awareness and expression. - art, dance, theatre, poetry, music. And to think about the following questions: - What is identity? What is culture? Who am I? What does it mean to be British/French/Italian/Greek etc? What does it mean to be European? What does it mean to be global? Overall, we want to give our children a strong sense of global citizenship and unity, with an understanding of their own culture and the culture of others across Europe and the world. We will be making a KA229 application.
