PROJECT
Active

active citizenship, food citizen

This project aims to introduce the concept of food citizenship amongst young students in order to make them aware of specific issues related to food. Starting from the food we eat at school (both that we bring from home or that we eat in the school canteen) we want to address food-related issues not only when it comes to its cultural and social implications, but we want to create awareness of the impact it has on our health and on the environment. Ultimately, pupils learn how to take part with others in activities designed to make a positive difference in the world around them. They start by finding similarities and differences in the way food is dealt with at school. The goal is to enable young people to develop self-awareness as members of a social group, and then possibly play a role and become active and responsible citizens.
