Survey on learning outside the classroom - Results

The recent School Education Gateway survey on learning outside the classroom found that most respondents organise activities outside the classroom at least once a month. Respondents reported that working with external stakeholders has a positive effect on their daily practice positively, although it can present practical difficulties that can be addressed through partnership-building strategies.

Scuola Viva School improvement at regional level with multistakeholders

The Scuola Viva project is a series of interventions aimed at strengthening the educational offer of the regional school system and the relationship between school, territory, businesses and citizens in Campania, Italy. The project currently has 500 schools taking part with over 400,000 students involved.

Exhibitions as active learning experiences

Key spaces such as museums and exhibitions are vital for informal learning. They offer untapped potential for communicating social, cultural and scientific information, correcting misconceptions, and improving attitudes and cognitive skills. They can inspire creativity and celebrate different perspectives. However, too frequently this learning is passive, overly relying on the curator’s path and the individual’s connection.
