In this webinar we’ll explore the teaching journey of eTwinning ambassador Aspasia Mylona and her best practices for teaching science through creativity and collaboration.

Description

This webinar will focus on best practices for promoting science education in schools. It will open with an introduction by Rafael Montero, moderator of the eTwinning featured group Basic skills in action, who will provide an overview of ongoing and upcoming activities related to this theme.

Next, Aspasia Mylona, an experienced science teacher and eTwinning and Scientix ambassador, will share her success story. She will offer best practice examples and insights from her projects to inspire your own teaching journey.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in the discussion through a padlet, where they can share their own success stories, and through an open Q&A session on integrating critical thinking into their classrooms.

About the speakers

Aspasia Mylona

Aspasia Mylona is a dietitian/nutritionist. She has 18 years experience in teaching and learning activities. Since 2013, she has been working as a teacher of Agriculture, Food and Environment sector of 1st EPAL Nafpaktou, a secondary school providing VET education, teaching Food Technology and Processing, and Nutrition Science related subjects. She has a Master of Science in "Nutrition in Health and Disease" from the University of Thessaly (Faculty of Health Sciences-Medical Department). She is an eTwinning and a Scientix ambassador, passionate about making teaching and learning activities more inclusive, effective and attractive. Thus, she is experimenting and integrating different educational approaches and Web2.00 tools, also encouraging her students to be active in eTwinning and Erasmus+ projects, conferences and awareness campaigns.

Rafael Montero is a STEM teacher at a Spanish School (www.codema.es). He strongly believes in developing scientific vocations among his students and has been involved in many european STEM and Erasmus+ projects.​He is an eTwinning, Scientix and FCL ambassador and moderates the Basic skills featured group.
