Description

The Covid pandemic triggered the biggest disruption to our education systems in many decades. Since then, almost half of teachers in the EU say that their work is stressful and almost one-fourth of all teachers say that stress affects their physical and mental health. The extended period of online teaching resulted in lowered academic standards, poor study habits, and negative classroom behaviors. For teachers, this has meant increased classroom management, higher workload and additional pressure from parents. For administrators, there is the stress of higher demands with fewer resources. Educators are leaving the profession at higher rates and it is often the most hard-working and dedicated teachers that experience burnout.

Ƶing objectives

  • Systemic Understanding of Burnout: By the end of this course, participants will gain insights into the systemic causes of burnout in the education sector.
  • Personal Resilience Techniques: Participants will learn practical strategies to alleviate stress and prevent burnout on a personal level.
  • Psychosocial Impact Awareness: Through discussions and case studies, participants will develop an understanding of the psychosocial toll of burnout. They will recognize how burnout affects mental health, emotional well-being, and overall job satisfaction.
  • Collaboration and Motivation Restoration: Participants will explore ways to restore collaboration, motivation, and work-life balance.
