Why Maths? - 2011-2012

The analysis of historical and scientific data will enhance the application of Mathematics in other disciplines and give evidence to Mathematics importance in the everyday life. Mathematics is an common language used by other sciences to create models and to share knowledge. We will use this to share knowledge among European students, to improve their English, to co-operate in an international context and use ICT competences. Partners will work together using the Internet. Thanks to co-operation students will realize that differences are not drawback, but enriching opportunities. The project finds its motivation in the co-operation between Mathematics teachers and teachers of other subjects as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy, Geography, Philosophy, Art, Music, Economics etc. This interdisciplinary approach will motivate the study of not only Mathematics, but its applications.
