Viking Tracks

The idea behind this project came from previous experience and observations within Erasmus+ project work. There has always been a stronger focus on the linguistic and cultural differences between us than the elements that bring us together. The Viking Age was a period which created interaction between different nations in different ways, hundreds of years ago. The influence of this past interaction can still be seen very clearly today in literature, culture, food and languages and it is this influence that we want to investigate and use as common ground for our future collaboration. The project will also create the opportunity to approach theoretical subjects in a new way (languages, history, geography and maths) and to see them in a different light, thereby making them more exciting, motivational and relevant for our students. It will also, of course, strengthen the cross-curricular aspect of our work. Teachers who take part in the project will feel more engaged.
