SMILE

Visual narratives, such as comics and animations, smile cards on social etiquetes or vignettes are becoming increasingly popular as a tool for education and communication. Comics are a medium used to express ideas through images often combined with text or other visual information. They capture key ideas succinctly and grab people's attention. Creating comics in the classroom have the potential to motivate and engage the learner. Allowing students to create comics in their classrooms can increase their level of creativity, engagement, comprehension and develop their research skills. Therefore we would like to use cartoons, traditional comic stories, smile cards, social etiquettes and vignettes to introduce the idea of humour and culture in this project to make everyone smile. The rationale of the project is to engage the students with digital media and allow them to share cartoons, cards or stories that address social issues relevant to them and their communities.
