Kaleidoscope of English

“Kaleidoscope of English” is a cooperative multi-focused project whose main aim is to cultivate emotional intelligence, respect for diversity and active citizenship. Teachers and students are going to be engaged in various activities during the three main stages (before, while and after) of reading several books related to colours: · “The Day the Crayons Quit” by Drew Daywalt · “The colour monster” by Anna Llenas · “Red: A Crayon’s story” by Michael Hall · “Pink Monster” by Olga de Dios The choice of these books has been made on the grounds of their core ideas, their vivid and expressive illustration as well as their vocabulary which complies with students’ age as well as their level of English and, therefore, could foster students’ understanding of the stories while enhancing their language awareness and love of reading. The activities organized will be based on the use of digital tools (Web2) thus to contribute to the development of competency in ICT skills. Mixed country team tasks aspire to encourage the collaboration among all participants providing a multi-cultural understanding while promoting plurilingualism. Students’ handcraft work in several parts of the project intends to foster experiential learning and hands-on experience. Finally, thanks to the authentic use of English in all stages of the project students will be motivated to learn new aspects of the language and develop their mediation and communicative skills.
