It is common to hear that people have short memories. Young people ignore historical facts that have marked the lives of millions of people. Do not ignore the past to better understand the present is a positive idea. After the Second World War, Europe became a place of freedom, solidarity and cooperation. Encouraging intercultural dialogue among young people from different countries can give them a better understanding of everything that surrounds them and, consequently, lead to a more cooperative and supportive future society. In addition, Dr. Carsten Witt, who is now 76 years old, has recently started walking across Europe from Lisbon to Tallin. Along the way he will contact people from different countries sharing ideas about Europe as a place of peace, freedom, cooperation and solidarity.
