With this project we intend for the educational community to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals, which must be implemented by all countries in the world by 2030, such as: quality education; renewable and accessible energies; sustainable cities and communities; sustainable production and consumption; climate action and protect life on Earth. Therefore, as a starting point, students will investigate, analyze and debate the reasons for forest fires in different areas of the countries involved in the project in recent years (the fires that occurred were the result of climate change/adverse weather conditions, lack of forest cleaning , monoculture of forest species, difficult access, scarce means of combat?). Valuing the importance of the native forest and biodiversity and the many difficulties linked to the reforestation of burnt areas and desertified areas, solutions will be studied that excite and involve students, teachers and non-teaching staff, parents and guardians and various local partners, organizing collection of seeds in forest walks, awareness raising activities, “seed grenade” workshops, mountain trails for throwing grenades and monitoring tree growth, creation of small greenhouses and a digital book about the native trees of each country involved in the project . In addition, “reading seeds” will be sown. Students will build “reading nests” with recyclable materials, elaborate “trees” whose leaves will be messages about what each one can do in terms of sustainability, bookmarks will be created to be placed in each reader’s books and drawings will be made the cushions used in reading spaces, making reading more enjoyable. We will try to extend these “reading seeds” to the populations where the schools are located.
