Flowers grow on STEM

“Flowers grow on STEM” project is a three-fold project based on STEM, climate change and democracy. These three pillars are going to sensitize today's students, but tomorrow's citizens how they can make a difference and possibly prevent climate change. It will last from November 2019 until May 2020 and give our students the opportunity to grow in various ways: it will give them a chance to see a world outside of their walls, the concept of Europe will be understood and our students will become fully aware of other European partner countries. Democratic values will be taught not in theory, but in a practical way by voting in on-line polls. In today’s society, 21st-century skills (communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity) are more important to students now than ever before. Students should develop them in school, so as to use them later on in their life and work environment. STEM (i.e. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach aims to post-millennial Generation Z, who have used the Internet since a young age and are comfortable with technology and social media, but still need to work on their communication and collaborative skills. To sum up, “Flowers grow on STEM” project will attempt to put the seed of doubt, the seed of science and technology in our students cultivating whole, democratic personalities. #eTw4Democracy
