Building a better world

For centuries, humans have migrated to escape poverty, political repression, to find new economic opportunities, to trade and to travel. However, it seems that now, more than ever our society is concerned with the issues these movements create and the reasons why people are often forced to leave their own countries. For these reasons, the project is created to teach teenagers tolerance towards people belonging to different nations, and cultural and historical backgrounds, to show respect towards refugees, immigrants and marginalized people. Students will explore the history of immigration and compare it to the current situation. They will learn about the reasons why refugees and migrants are forced to leave their countries and they will analyse the impacts of immigration. After that, they will talk about famous refugees. So that, at the end of this project, students will have a deeper insight and a better understanding of what it means to be a migrant or a refugee.
