Who are we?
V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, founded in November 1804, is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Eastern Europe. According to the QS World University Rankings 2024, it ranks between 691-700 globally, consistently leading among Ukrainian universities for the past decade. As a classical university, it comprises 26 schools and educational research institutes, educating over 15,717 students, including 1,014 international students from 31 countries, alongside 650 postgraduates and 14 doctoral candidates.
The School of Foreign Languages of Karazin University, with over 1,200 students, not only trains specialists in Secondary Education (English, Second Foreign Language, and World Literature) but also prepares students of all language programs — English, German, French, Arabic, Spanish, and Chinese — as future teachers. The programs focus on modern pedagogical approaches, incorporating digital tools and innovative teaching methods. Through practical experience and advanced technologies, students are equipped to meet the demands of contemporary education and foster critical thinking.
Among Karazin University key institutions is the Education and Research Institute "Teachers' Academy," which serves as a modern center for developing pedagogical education in Ukraine. The Academy offers a diverse range of innovative courses, including social and emotional learning, trauma-informed education, and distance learning, equipping educators to support students' mental health and adapt to flexible teaching environments.
