Aglaia Nait

I am a teacher and I teach at a secondary school and one University. I teach German and, at the University of Applied Sciences of Rotterdam, I teach Italian.
The German language is not a beloved subject for students in the Netherlands, they dread the language (although they are advantaged if you compare them with other students from non-Germanic speaking countries), they find it difficult even before even starting to learn it.
There are of course historical reasons to this, but I would like to contribute in changing the perception of German as difficult language for Dutch speaking students.
I therefore would like to let the kids communicate in German with peers from around the world/Europe.
In this way they would see the real usage of knowing a foreign language like German. You don't need to write or speak flawlessly in order to communicate.
I want to give language learning a real, practical dimension. It should not remain as a mere abstract thing, confined to schools and grammar tables...
